If I'm not feeling like going digging for fic, but want something to read, this comm is awesome. There are always new recs coming in and in smaller fandoms, or fandoms I've never heard of, which is a real treat, because I'm always looking for new fandoms to stalk. And if I want to read fics based around a certain theme, then I've got lots of great fics to choose from.

Asexual Fandom comm. This one isn't as lively as I'd love it to be, but it has a lot of fun meme and head canon stuff to fool around with and when you get a lively discussion going it can go on for a long time.

Transfic_Minifest

Actually a sub-challenge of 3weeks of dreamwidth, this is one of my all time favorite things. You can post a prompt in any fandom and get some little story or piece of art to take part. Last years some of my favorite stories came out of this. Also it's tons of fun with very little pressure. Nobody cares if your write a paragraph or a novel.
