Day 46. Unconditional: Love

Kamerreon's Drabble Challenge -- A drabble a day until my imagination dies... hopefully that won't be soon.

Neville craves physical affection. His family is too traditional to touch each other, much less hug or cuddle. He has fuzzy memories of being held and rocked in his mother’s arms but no memories of such affections after his parent’s were driven mad.

He knows in the theoretical sense that his family cares for him otherwise they wouldn’t feed him, clothe him, or try to make him a “good” man and wizard. Unfortunately, that knowledge gives him little comfort.

It isn’t that he’s ungrateful for the care they give him, it’s that he wants to know he is loved unconditionally.
