Remus hates waking up in the infirmary the day after the full moon. It’s the one part of being a werewolf that not even the Marauders can change. They can keep the wolf from hurting others but not him. He doesn't think the others know the full consequences of being a werewolf.

The werewolf damages more than its hosts physical bodies it damages their magical core. Most werewolves don't survive past 50 years of age. Compared to the average wizarding lifespan of 200 years the difference is astronomical. The others might believe they've controlled the werewolf but he knows better.
