Sirius is trapped inside of a box. The others think he should be grateful for their "protecting him" but he doesn’t see why he should be grateful for their gift of a new prison.

He’d escaped Azkaban to prove his innocence. He hadn’t escaped just to be trapped inside his family’s house. There may not be Dementor's here to suck his happiness away but his memories of this house are more than enough to drive him mad.

Of course, Sirius suspects that is Dumbledore’s intention because as long as Sirius isn't sane and free Harry will remain under Dumbledore’s control.
