Rodney has the tastiest brains in two galaxies and that’s not just his ego talking. Why else would a decomposing and supposedly brainless John follow him through the various Stargates and to various planets throughout both galaxies, before finally being captured. Word comes down two days later that the earth is going to isolate itself in an attempt to wait the virus out.
The Atlantis team can’t accept that, they’d lost over half their numbers to the virus and weren’t about to abandon them. So they stage a revolt of sorts. They scavenge everything they can from Stargate Command and hold General Landry hostage in order to get back through the gate. They are leaving their home planet, to return to a Galaxy devastated by Zombies. It’s crazy and it’s something that Rodney never thought he’d be doing, but he can’t bring himself to stop, but somehow loosing John has become worse than losing his home planet. So he returns to Atlantis with John as his pet zombie and sets to work on fixing the unfixable.
After all, how hard can it be to find a cure for being undead?
