Snowflake Challenge: Day One

Day One
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
There is a Pond, Where You're Waiting for Me
Fandom: Nabari No Ou
Summary: We meet in the Fuma Hospital's cancer ward.
This one was written for one of my cornerstone Fandoms. I've got a huge place in my hart for the Nabari No Ou anime because it falls into a few of my favorite tropes. Gender experimenting main characters. Found families. and people having too make bad decisions and deal with consequences of them, because sometimes there just isn't way out of a bad situation.
There is a Pond is a complete AU. I wanted to re-imagine Miharu and Yoite as people who were both still dying slowly, but of something that had no easy way to fix. One of my favorite stories from a couple years ago was about a man that was researching grief in long term illnesses. One of the parts of the story that really stuck with me was that sometimes letting go and making peace with your death is the kindest thing you can do for your loved ones. So I really wanted to weave the peace and acceptance Yoite showed in the series into the story.
Unicorn Blessed
Fandom: American Idol
Summary: Kris is a failed musician who’s planning to spend the rest of his life working as a shoe-salesmen. Maybe even owning his own shoe store one day. He doesn’t want to be hurt by dreaming bigger ever again.
That all changes when a pint-sized, blue eyes, glittery unicorn comes barging into his life. The unicorn claims him as one of the Blessed, the bonded partners of unicorn kind, much to Kris’ annoyance.
Review: I took this story on before I was really up to the task of writing it, which makes it one of my most bitter-sweet stories to date. I love the premise, and some of the scenes still qualify as the most fun scenes I've ever written. Adam the glitter shedding Unicorn who just wants Kris to be awesome and go for his dreams, was just a fun and happy premise that it still makes me smile. I'm hopefully that in a few years, when I feel a little more comfortable taking on the project, I'll be able to rewrite and expand on the story. Or maybe start a awesome group of fics where inspirational unicorns run amuck through multiple fandoms.
Art Geeks Unite [a.k.a. How Jensen Met his Muse]
Fandom: The Losers
Summary: The Losers' art club have a new, very hot nude model. To bad the majority of them are too busy causing trouble to notice. Not that Jensen minds having Cougar all to himself.
Review: This story was just an excuse to let my inner art geek come out and go crazy. I love Jensen as a character because he is such a complete Geek that I feel like I can get into his head, and it was tons of fun to turn that geekiness towards my own field of knowledge.
