Day 52. Normal: Strangely and Perfectly Normal

Kamerreon's Drabble Challenge -- A drabble a day until my imagination dies... hopefully that won't be soon.

Petunia and Vernon Dursley think of themselves as normal. They have a perfectly normal family with a perfectly normal house. Well its perfectly normal if you don’t pay any attention to the cupboard under the stairs, which they don’t.

 

They like to think that their not afraid of anything. Not the ratty little boy they keep in their cupboard and certainly not the neighbor’s gossip. If they realize they are lying to themselves, they convince themselves such actions are normal.

 

They never realize that they do fear something, not being normal. A fear that strangely enough makes them perfectly normal.
