Other pureblood children pitied Neville, he was too inept and poor to be a husband and too unattractive to become a child-bearing spouse.

Then they saw him dance at the Yuletide ball. He was like a man possessed, his body merely an extension of the music flowing through the air, elegant and untiring. His every move cast a spell on them, and when the music ended, it was as though they’d woken from a dream.

The next morning Lady Longbottom found her front parlor flooded with owls from every young pureblood male in England, each bearing an offer of betrothal.
