Sorry it took me so long to get back to this.

A bad case of the season crud and my own poor memory.

Thank you so much for agreeing to make something for me! I am sure that I will love whatever you make.

I've a particular softspot for stories with fluff, domestic stories, ptsd, touch starvation, trans characters, and nerodivergent characters

I run the gambit of different stories that I love. My main hard-limits are rape/non-con, on screen child abuse, and explicit violence. I'm also not the biggest fan in the world of smut, but if that is where the story takes you. I just ask that you keep it SSAC (Safe, Sane and Concentual)

If you want prompts.

1. I'd love anything with non-verbal Carlos. Sign-language, Jensen setting up AAC, wherever you'd like to take the idea.

2. Carlos dealing with all three of the Jensen clan and loving it even as he acts like a long-suffering parent

For all fandoms: My hard limits are rape/non-con & graphic on-screen. child abuse, I'm find with implied/past child abuse. As the PTSD elements in a lot the fandoms I've picked are what drew me to the stories in the first place. I just can't really handle detailed present-day abuse.

My general likes are: domesticity, Found families, Neurodiverse characters, and trans characters. And as always feel free to ignore any specific details I include in this letter if they interfere with you story.

Thank you so much for agreeing to write a fic for me. Yuletide is a big part of what makes the holiday's special for me.

First off, many virtual hugs and kisses for offering to write in these fandoms.

If you are interested in participating please check out the info for the exchange here

My hard limits are rape/non-con and gaslighting. Everything else is up to your imagination.

Gravity Falls

Dipper & Mabel Pine

Mabel and Dipper awesome siblings, with awesome special interests. I'd love anything about how these two support each other and help each other cope in different situations. Are all Mabels sweaters for sensory reasons? And does Dipper have weights hidden inside his apparently fluffy vest. Why did their parents decide to send them to Grunkle Stan for the entire summer, with no apparent contact?

Did Dipper always have a special interest in the supernatural or did the Journal start a new obsession? So many questions and any more you can think of. I just want to know more about how the twins experience the world.

Otomen

Asuka and Hiromi Masamune

I really headcanon both Asuka and his Dad as autistic. They both have their special interests and Hiromi is virtually non-verbal.

I'd love to see something about their relating to each other. Shared special interests in baking. And more about how Asuka's Mom learned to accept both of their autistic traits.

I'd also love to see anything you might want to do with Hiromi's feelings of Gender fluidity. Honestly anything set during or after the series will be awesome. This is one of my favorite stories and there are so few fics for it much less ones dealing with autistic headcanon.

Leverage

Parker, Eliot, Hardison

Parker's special interest is definitely stealing. Her descriptions of air ducts lead me to believe that they are one of her favorite sensory spots. How do her boys help her center and relax? I'd love something with all three of them being on the spectrum and helping each other out, but whatever you want to do will be awesome!

Harry Potter

Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom

I love these two crazy kids and while they didn't have a lot of time together in the books, I'd like to see how they related to each other. Alternatively character studies on either of them would also be awesome. How is magic effected by sensory issues? Are there really magical creatures that only people like Luna can see, or is that an explanation for something else going on? Does that magical world even have a concept of the spectrum? And if they do how is it different from our own?

Thanks again for offering to write for this challenge. I look forward to reading whatever story you create!

So I have light sensitivity mixed with bad double vision and dyslexia. I discovered this cool plug-in for chrome and firefox. beelinereader.com
That allows you to view a page in different colors, and in certain situations with the OpenDyslexic font (Which isn't for everybody, but I love)

It is programmed to work particularly well with Kindle Reader, Archiveofourown, and FF.net. It also works with DW and LJ entries, but it extracts the text from the entry to reformat, so that means if you need particular formatting, you're out of luck. There is also a pasteboard that lets you format blocks of text form Word Documents etc.

So, in my ever present search to be able to read, when I'm having a bad spell, I've been trying to figure out how to use this technology on ebooks that I've purchased from non Kindle sources.

Which is where I discovered something awesome! Epub is a particular kind of Zip file, which means it can be turned back into a zip file by changing the extension at the end of the file name to .zip.

Why is this cool? Because it means that you can view an Epub book in HTML form in your browser. Which means that you can run it through the BeelineReader plug-in and have the book appear in your preferred settings, just like you would be able to do if you were viewing the book online.

Okay so one of the things I decided to work on this year, was being a little more forth-coming about who I am. Obviously sharing RL stuff in fandom space is purely optional, and I'm creating a tag for anybody who doesn't want to deal with RL on their dashboard.

I understand. Fandom is a safe space for a lot of people who have significant health and societal issues that don't need other people's problems dumped on them. If you are somebody who knows enough about themselves to know not to take on other people's problems, then I solute you and you are awesome. Keep doing what you need to do to keep yourself safe and stable.

# # #

So a basic intro to me. I've got a chronic pain problem. It's not life-threatening or anything, but it does put a crimp in my life. On bad weeks I'm barely on the computer at all, much less in a productive/communicative capacity. So that's something anybody who's reading this page or dealing with me on a long-term basis is going to have to understand. It's not that I'm trying to slight you or anything, I've just learned that there are some points where pushing myself hard is the worst thing I can do. Which leads me to the other thing I'm trying to work on this year. Here is my motto for the year:

"Accept your weaknesses, and learn to take advantage of your strengths."

Semi in-depth explination for anybody who wants to read it )

This is one part manifesto, and one part warning. Because starting this year I'm going to be working on becoming the best spoon-theory using, speed writing, chronic headache having, crazy person I can be.

Day 13

In your own space, talk about setting yourself a fannish goal. Big or small, it doesn't matter. Some great examples include: complete a bingo, sign-up for a Big Bang, write that fic you've been thinking about for years, podfic that story that you love, make a fanmix for your fandom, post that bit of meta or reclist you keep postponing. Maybe resolve to be better at leaving feedback, or answering comments. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Day 4

Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"

It doesn't have to be anything complex - it can be feedback for a fanwork or discussing something you might have in common or even simply admiring their icon. The point is to reach out to someone you normally wouldn't and connect with them, even if it's only for the briefest moment.

Day Three

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser-known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom who maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
